Midway Real Estate FAQs
What do homes cost in Midway, Utah?
In the 12 months ending June 2026, the median single-family home in Midway sold for $1,119,500 across 94 sales, according to Park City MLS data. Condos are their own market, with a median sale of $470,000 over the same 12 months. That spread is why I pull numbers for the specific neighborhood and property type before we talk about your price.
Is Midway a good place to raise a family?
Here are the facts so you can decide. About 30 percent of Midway's roughly 6,000 residents are under 18, and Midway Elementary is in town. Midway sits west of U.S. 40, which puts it in the boundary for Rocky Mountain Middle School and Deer Creek High School in Heber City, the high school that opened in August 2026. The city has six parks, and Town Square has a full-size outdoor ice rink from Thanksgiving weekend to mid-March, weather permitting.
What is the commute from Midway?
From downtown Midway, plan on 10 to 12 minutes to Heber City Main Street, 25 to 30 to Park City Main Street, and 30 to 35 to Kimball Junction. Provo is 35 to 45 minutes through Provo Canyon on U.S. 189, and downtown Salt Lake is 55 to 65. Those are normal-day times, so add some for snow and for Swiss Days weekend.
How much are property taxes in Midway?
Utah taxes a primary residence on 55 percent of its market value and a second home on 100 percent, so the same house can carry two very different bills. Wasatch County's 2025 rate for the Midway tax district was 0.9215 percent, which works out to about $5,068 on a $1,000,000 primary residence and $9,215 on the same home as a second home. The primary-residence exemption is not automatic in Wasatch County, so file the application, and taxes are due November 30.

Is there new construction in Midway?
Yes, mostly at the higher end. Homestead is selling resort residences that started at about $1,090,000 for one bedroom and $1,450,000 for two in August 2026, with construction slated to finish in 2027. For a custom build, The Reserve at Midway and The Farm at Wilson Lane had lots of about an acre listed from roughly $690,000 to $800,000 in October 2026. On raw land, Midway requires water rights to be turned over to the city before a subdivision plat is recorded, so I check the water before we talk price.
Where is the value in Midway?
Condos and townhomes are the lower-cost way in: the median Midway condo sold for $470,000 in the 12 months ending June 2026, against $1,119,500 for a single-family home. In October 2026, townhomes at The Hamlet were listed from about $418,000 and one- and two-bedroom condos at Zermatt from about $345,000. Mountain lots in Swiss Mountain Estates and Brighton Estates were listed from under $100,000, but Brighton Estates is reached by snowmobile in winter, so ask me before you fall for one.
How is the Midway real estate market trending?
Prices have eased and buyers have more room than they did. The median single-family sale was $1,119,500 for the 12 months ending June 2026, down 9 percent from the 12 months before, while the number of sales rose 11 percent to 94. Redfin's August 2026 numbers show homes taking 82 days to sell, up from 71 a year earlier, and selling for about 97 percent of list price. Sellers need to price to the most recent sales, and buyers have time to look and negotiate.
Can I keep horses in Midway, and is there acreage?
Yes, on the right lot: Midway's code works out to one horse per half acre, and in most residential zones the lot has to be at least one acre before large animals are allowed. The RA-1-43 zone is made for it, with one-acre minimum lots, and larger parcels come up at Highlands at Soldier Hollow (6 to 20-plus acres), River Meadows Ranch (1.5 to 8 acres), and Midway Farms. An HOA can be stricter than the city, so I read the CC&Rs, then check irrigation shares with Midway Irrigation Company, fencing, and whether a trailer can get in and out. For riding, the Dutch Hollow trails in Wasatch Mountain State Park are open to horses.
